For the third year, Taste of Equality, hosted by Gulfstream Park, will be held on October 11, 2017 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This year, attendees can once again embrace their inner foodies with a tasting in the park from participating venues and expect the event to take it up a notch with some awesome entertainment, shopping specials, raffles and more.
More than 250 local Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) supporters and members of the LGBTQ community are expected to gather at Hallandale Beach’s renowned Gulfstream Park to support Equality Florida. The event is hoping to raise funds through ticket sales and raffle prizes, and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Equality Florida and The Safe and Healthy Schools Project.
The lavish open-air entertainment complex is the perfect place for guests to sip and savor a variety of food, wine and cocktail samples from more than a dozen participating sponsors while supporting the cause that dedicates itself to securing full equality for the LGBTQ community.
The dining and retail center has generous donations and support from its tenants. Guests will be able to dine and shop around Gulfstream at restaurants and retailers including Adena Grill & Wine Bar, Brio Tuscan Grille, Frankey’s Sports Bar, Häagen Dazs, Mijana Lebanese Cuisine, PlugIN Karaoke, ROK:BRGR Burger Bar + Gastropub, Strike 10 Bowling, Texas de Brazil, Williams-Sonoma and Yard House.
Raffle prizes include gift baskets donated from Crate & Barrel, The Container Store, Pottery Barn, West Elm, Williams-Sonoma and Z Gallerie.
In the wake of the mass shooting at Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub on June 12, 2016, Equality Florida made a commitment to honor the sacrifice made by the victims by doubling their efforts to uproot the anti-LGBTQ bigotry that led to the massacre. The Safe and Healthy Schools Project that resulted is a pioneering new project to end LGBTQ bias in schools. To learn more, visit http://www.eqfl.org/Safe_Schools.
Equality Florida, the largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community, with more than 270,000 members statewide and over 75,000 in South Florida, is celebrating 20 years of equality this year.
Ticket prices will be $40 in advance and $50 on the day of the event. To purchase tickets, please visit www.gulfstreampark.com/equality.
